Serpenti 7 Coil
The serpent has been a symbol of eternal youth and immortality since antiquity; Bulgari has been using the motif for decades and it is now considered one of the brand's aesthetic signatures. In 2010 Bulgari launched single and double coil SERPENTI models using the TUBOGAS construction. For 2011 they have updated the design with seven coils that sinuously wrap around the wearer's forearm.
The new model brilliantly combines master jewelry craftsmanship, expert enameling and goldsmithing, and meticulous Swiss watch making techniques, giving life to a powerful, totally unique and incomparable style.
The watch includes a Swiss quartz movement customized for Bulgari, and features a silver dial with a sunburst finish, set (with or without) 190 diamonds (.82 cts) and 38 brilliant cut diamonds around the bezel (0.29 cts), and embellished by a crown set with a cabochon rubellite.
The serpent motif has had a presence in jewelry dating back to the Neolithic Age. It has many connotations: as a symbol of earth and water, knowledge and fertility, immortality and renaissance, and more. Bulgari's first examples incorporating the snake date back to the 1940s; these were bracelet-watches in the shape of a highly stylized serpent with coils made with either the Tubogas construction method, or in gold mesh that wrapped around the wrist. By the 1960s these had evolved into models of a more realistic interpretation, with bodies composed of numerous separate elements simulating the reptiles' scales. Ever since the figure of the reptile has laid at the core of Bulgari's aesthetic universe, ranging in numerous variations including multicolored enamels with precious stones, gold and/or steel both with and without colored gemstones.
Bulgari developed the Tubogas bracelet in the 1950s, and has been continuously recreating it. Its complicated and stylized workmanship testify to Bulgari's expertise: each bracelet is composed of a steel of gold "braid" of interlocking metal that requires no soldering. In order to assure its tight fit, the "braid" undergoes a lengthy set of manually executed preparatory operations before being finally assembled, at which point each coil (or wrap around the wrist) may be as long as five meters. The 2011 SERPENTI 7 Coil is a total of 35 meters of 18kt pink gold!

questo modello di Bulgari mi è sempre piaciuto.....su una donna è elegantissimo....davvero bello!!! :P questo è al quarzo ma lo han fatto anche meccanico....
