Orologi e Co...

Novità Orologi / Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre L.E.

Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre L.E.

Daniel Craig visits the OMEGA factory in Villeret, Switzerland - The actor sees production of the new OMEGA Seamaster 300 "SPECTRE" Limited Edition, which will go on sale in September.

Daniel Craig has made a special visit to the heart of the Swiss watchmaking industry for the inauguration of the OMEGA factory in Villeret, Switzerland. The actor who reprises his role as James Bond in SPECTRE, the 24th Bond adventure, was given a guided tour, as well as exclusive access to the factory's assembly line. During the visit he was also shown production of the new OMEGA Seamaster 300 "SPECTRE" Limited Edition.

For OMEGA, Daniel Craig's visit to Villeret was a momentous occasion. Together with Nick Hayek, Swatch Group CEO, and Stephen Urquhart, President of OMEGA, Craig was shown exactly what goes into making OMEGA watches such as the one he wears in SPECTRE. As an avid collector himself, he was fascinated by the engineering and expertise on show.

"I think what was so impressive was the fact that these watches are made from the ground up. You start with nothing, and then there's suddenly a working watch. That's the beauty of it. To see the engineering that goes into it and the legacy that goes into it, that's what fascinated me."

The Seamaster has been James Bond's watch since GoldenEye (1995), with its naval history and classic style, the watch perfectly reflects Bond's character. Now, in celebration of the new movie, fans and watch collectors will be able to buy the model worn by 007 in SPECTRE, as the OMEGA Seamaster 300 will go on sale as a limited edition. The release marks a first for the partnership; until now, only commemorative editions have been used to celebrate OMEGA's link with the franchise.

The watch features a bi-directional, rotating diving bezel, made from black, polished ceramic, combined with a LiquidMetal® 12 hour scale, so that time can be kept with any country in the world.

Other unique features include the "lollipop" central seconds hands, as well as the 5-stripe black and grey NATO strap. On the bracelet's strap holder, the 007 gun logo has been engraved.

Each watch has its own unique serial number engraved on the back along with the SPECTRE film logo, celebrating the latest on-screen adventure. Inside, the watch is driven by the highly innovative OMEGA Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, a revolutionary movement in its own right.

This special timepiece will be limited to just 7,007 pieces. It will be available in selected boutiques from September.

Novità Orologi / Hublot Big Bang Zermatt and New Boutique

Hublot Big Bang Zermatt and New Boutique

"Claiming a place as your own means respecting its history, what makes it special, its signature and its identity. With its Chalet Boutique, Hublot makes a notable climb to the foot of the Matterhorn." Ricardo Guadalupe

At an altitude of 1,608 m, at 27 Bahnhofstrasse, the new Hublot store proudly bears the marksof SUISSITUDE. A real "Schatzchischta" (treasure trove) amongst the highest peaks in Switzerland. To mark its ascension, Hublot has created two numbered limited editions. The spirit of the Matterhorn shining at the heart of Big Bang.

As Zermatt honours its legendary mountain--celebrations are under way for the 150th anniversary of the first ascension of the Matterhorn--Hublot is inaugurating its 80th store in the world. In a unique location that has seen the design of Hublot's stores transposed in a style that blends tradition and modernity.

The name Zermatt means "in the mountain pastures" (zur Matte); so Hublot wanted to respect the tradition of the area and its history by creating an original and emblematic Chalet-Boutique. On the outside, we see a contemporary interpretation of the traditional architecture. On the inside, the counters and the displays are dressed in wood and glass. Under a framework of exposed beams, the old wooden walls reveal the narrow openings that are so characteristic of the barns. The lights inserted into them give the space a warm "homely" feel. On the walls, the displays surrounded by metal frames illustrate a typically Swiss art, reinterpreting the technique of paper cutting. The resulting patterns illustrating transhumance also find their way onto the external window displays and balconies. Hublot felt it was important to highlight local tradition and to blend it into its identity.

To mark its climb to the foot of the Matterhorn, Hublot has created two numbered Big Bang Zermatt models. In a tungsten or satin finished red gold case, with a ceramic bezel, a grey satin finished sun dial displays a counter at 9 o'clock engraved with the emblematic silhouette of the Matterhorn. Held on a brown calfskin strap with beige stitching, the Big Bang Zermatt is available in a limited edition of 150. The base opens to reveal a mechanical chronograph automatic winding HUB4100 movement. A piece of 3 cm rope takes pride of place above the movement between two sapphire panes, as if sealed for eternity.

The Zermatt region is home to many tales and legends. One legend says that the original rope was found at an altitude of 4,320 metres on the North-East crest of the Matterhorn. It is said that ropes have a soul--due to the inside of the rope that is made up of many nylon threads meshed together-- and there is no doubt that the soul of the Matterhorn shines at the heart of the Big Bang.

Hublot paves its way in Zermatt with traditional costumes and music, delicious cheese from Monsieur Biver, typical dishes and the good humour for which is renowned.

Novità Orologi / Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Squelette

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Squelette

Limited Edition of 100 Pieces Each - A Close Encounter Between the Watchmaking Art and Rare Handcrafts (Métiers Rares)
Lightness as a means of focusing on essentials. Daring to bare, yet attired in the most dazzling finery. Such are the messages delivered by the Master Ultra Thin Squelette collection comprising four watches that cause a sensation by revealing themselves in their entirety to the admiring gaze. Both inside and outside, the areas upon which the master artisans have lavished their talents right to the very core of each model reveal their innermost soul. Through the beauty and expertise it expresses, the Master Ultra Thin Squelette follows in the wake of the Hybris Artistica collection, embodying the inventiveness and the alliance of the 180 fine skills safeguarded by Jaeger-LeCoultre under its own roof. In its turn, Master Ultra Thin Squelette watch pursues a mission of carrying the observer to the heart of skeleton work, or the art of empty space raised to an absolute art form.

Ultra-thin horology has been a longstanding tradition at Jaeger-LeCoultre since 1907. The Grande Maison has chosen to associate it with other spheres of excellence, skeleton working, engraving, enamelling and gem-setting. Combining them is a daring choice.

Jaeger-LeCoultre plays in this instance with the extremely reliable Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 849ASQ to nurture emotions. As if infiltrated into the heart of the labyrinth, the gaze wanders (and wonders) among the gear wheels. It traces its path along the hand-engraved bridges, finely chamfered in even the most apparently unattainable corners to which the artisan has nonetheless managed to give a special glow. The eye moves across a millimetre-accurate decor having called for extreme precision and dexterity, noting the fascinating light effects created by dedicated Haute Horlogerie finishes. All around the movement, Jaeger-LeCoultre has devised an elaborate stage-setting for the hours and minutes bearing its inimitable style signature. Harmony and clarity, both fundamental principles of the Grande Maison, are embedded in the genetic heritage of this new creation. The Manufacture has treated the Master Ultra Thin Squelette to a dial divided into 12 zones, each delineated by hour-markers crafted in keeping with the noblest watchmaking traditions. Reading the time thus becomes both easy and pleasant. In the same way, the minute circle crowning the movement, revealed like a rare object, also demonstrates this ever-present concern for functionality.

The Rare Handcrafts (Métiers Rares) featured on both the front and back of the watch are the very essence of these models presented in four different interpretations. Each Master Ultra Thin Squelette watch represents perfectly thought-out, seamless integration of design, watchmaking artistry and exceptional expertise.

Master Ultra Thin Squelette and the art of enamelling
Enamelling is an art: that of colour born from fire that gives it a unique intensity and immutability over time. Envisaging enamel to adorn the Master Ultra Thin Squelette watch represented a sizeable challenge, since the combination of this eminently delicate technique with the skeleton working of the movement and all within an ultra-thin 3.6 mm thick case is an authentic feat. The white or rose gold is first adorned with a guilloché motif that gives a distinctive rhythm to the overall aesthetic of the watch. The artisan then applies the enamel to the dial surface and proceeds to the successive firing operations that reveal the chosen shade: a strongly pigmented deep blue for the white version, or a frosted chestnut brown to match the rose gold of the case. The back of the enamelled Master Ultra Thin Squelette watch provides a mirror image of the sequenced hour-zone design, highlighted by the energy of the colour.

Master Ultra Thin Squelette and the art of engraving on mother-of-pearl and gem-setting
Using mother-of-pearl and diamonds on a men's watch is a strong aesthetic choice in itself. It is proven to be a judicious one when the watch is held in the palm of the hand, where it becomes clear that radiance is the guiding thread in the gem-set Master Ultra Thin Squelette. This principle begins with the light that plays across the watch components that are engraved or finished according to a palette of techniques creating subtle contrasts. Then comes the shimmering iridescence of mother-of-pearl. Each of the hour zones is adorned with natural white mother-of-pearl that is hand-engraved to texture this delicate material. This technique also gives a unique rhythm to the dial via a kinetic effect. Finally, the fire of the brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel sets the crowning touch to this masterfully sophisticated design.

Technical Specifications:
The case, in 18kt white or rose gold, measures 38mm x 3.6mm or 4.7mm for the diamond-set version. The crystals are sapphire.

Movement is the Swiss manual-wind Jaeger-LeCoultre in-house caliber 849ASQ with 19 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 33 hours. The movement is 1.85mm thick.

Dials are openworked, enamelled or openworked, engraved mother-of-pearl with leaf-type hands.

They come on black or brown alligator leather straps with matching gold pin buckles.
